BREAKING: … Chelsea Wins Champion’s League Trophy

Chelsea have won the Champions League trophy for the second time after beating Manchester City 1-0 on Saturday in Portugal.

Chelsea opened scoring on 42 minutes through Kai Havertz in an explosive final.

Havertz ran on to a clever pass from Mason Mount and found himself one-on-one with the keeper. He still has work to do but finished with aplomb into the back of the net.

Earlier on 14 minutes, Timo Werner had time and space inside the box after picking up a neat pass, but his shot low towards the middle of the goal was comfortably saved by Ederson.

Phil Foden missed a good chance to score. An inch-perfect cross into the box found Phil Foden who rose for a header, but sent the ball well over the bar on 28 minutes.

On 60 minutes, City’s players appealed for a penalty after it appeared there was a handball by Reece James inside the box, but the referee ordered play on.

Chelsea almost doubled their lead on 73 minutes as Havertz rounded off a good move with a layoff to Christian Pulisic Chelsea inside the box, he had a clear sight of goal but sent the ball just wide of the left post.
