The Department of State Security (DSS) has paraded 13 Youruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho’s associates who were planning violent insurrection against the state.
Speaking while parading the suspects who were arrested during a raid in his residence in Soka, Ibada, Thursday at the DSS Head Quarters Abuja, the Public Relations Officer of the DSS, Dr Peter Afunanya, said Igboho, in the course of agitation for self determination, had become well armed and a threat to public order.
Afunanya said operatives recovered seven AK 47 assault rifles, 30 fully charged AK 47 and 5,000 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition.
The service said the need to inform stakeholders that the five AK-47 assault rifles recovered from the building were suspected to be those collected by Igboho’s men from Nigerian Customs and Immigration personnel at Idi Iroko, Ogun State.
Consequently, Adeyemo/Igboho is advised to turn himself in to the nearest security agency, as anyone can never be above the law. Meanwhile, those arrested will be charged,
