A group of Christian Youth of Nigeria has condemned what it described as evil plot by the self acclaimed human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore to distabilize the church by using the church premises to stage political protest.
This is coming shortly after the human rights activist recently used Donamis Church on Sunday to stage his ‘Buhari Must Go’ campaign in Abuja.
Converner of the group, Amb. Phil Robert while who briefed journalist after their extra ordinary meeting said Sowore’s continued tirades against the Church is part of his desperate ploy to whip up sentiment, sway public opinion, elicit public sympathy, all with the heinous intention for blackmail.
“We condemned in totallity, the campaign of calumny and media war wage against the church by Sowore and his corhots”
Amb. Robert noted that as youths, they identify with the collective yernings for positive change and leadership transformation of the country believing in orderliness and civilized engagement in the quest for change.
“Sowore’s mephistophellan quest for fame remain the only driver of his actions even against reason, public interest and progress.
“His conducts are often at variance with the interest of the very people his is ostensibly fighting for.
“We won’t be cowered into embracing anarchy in our quest for change in and so the youths should avoid the societal plague called Sowore”
They however drow the attention of the church leaders to rise up to the occasion and speak for the church so as to allow an uncultured and unreligious elements sustain his unwarranted attacks on the church.
They also called on the Nigerian Government to do their job by calling Sowore to order.
On his part Most Rev. Ugokwe Prince, of the Yoke Brokers church, said the church does not engage in a fight with any Government, but only render meaningful and positive advise.
President of PFN/CPFN, Youth Wing, Pastor Imaobong Odohofreh, while sounding a note warning to those who take their political grevaces to the house of God, should rather take them to the Government
He encourage christians and the clargys to vie for political officeses in order to salvage the nation.
