I Left Nigerian Army Better than I Met It-Buratai

The outgone Chief of Army Staff(COAS),General Tukur Yusuf Buratai says he is happy and proud that he is leaving the Nigerian army better than how he met it in 2015.

General Buratai (rtd) who made the disclosure  at his pulling out parade which took place at the Mogadishu Cantonment Abuja, said the Nigerian army under his leadership was able to achieve great feats in the fight against insurgency in the country as no part of Nigeria is ceded to any terrorist group or criminals.

The ceremony which commenced at about 9am had in attendance  the Governor of Borno state, Prof. Baba Zullum,The Honourable Minister of Defence Bashir Salihi Magashi,The Emir of Biu, HRH Mustapha Umar Alliyu ,Chairmen,House Comittee on Defence, top government officials, family, friends and well wishers of the outgone Chief.

Presenting his valedictory speech,General Tukur Buratai while appreciating President Muhammadu Buhari for trusting him as well as members of the Nigerian army for their support in the discharge of his constitutional role during his rain as COAS, he noted that his tenure would not have been successful if not for their cooperation.

He pointed out key achievements experienced in the course of  service  such as the successful combating of insurgency, establishment of major infrastructure within the Nigerian army amongst others.

Tukur was filled with satisfaction as was seen in  his speech of noting that the Nigerian army has gotten to the level where it does not submit to terrorist culminating as saying he is happy that he is leaving with wealths of knowledge that he will always cherish.

He then charged the Chief of Army Staff(COAS),Major General Ibrahim Attahiru to continue with the work already in progress  adding that he knows he is leaving the Army in good hands.

As it is always a tradition in the milliary, the Mogadishu Cantonment  was clouded in beautiful colors of the gallant men displaying what they know how to do best which is always a sight to behold.

The parade which was beautifully carried out received accolades from invited quests.

Also featuring in the pulling out ceremony was a the launching of a book titled” The Legends of Buratai written by the General himself and was chaired by the Honourable Minister of Defense.

Highlight of the event was the parade that symbolized the pulling out of the outgone chief from service.
