Ifeanyi Ubah Defects YPP To APC

The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Ifeanyi Ubah, has defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking while receiving Senator Ubah shortly after he defected to the APC at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja, National Chairman of the APC Dr. Abdullahi Gandujehe noted that it would be in the best interest of the entire South East to join APC.

Ganduje  explained that the quest for the zone to produce the President would remain a mirage if the zone continued to split along the lines of the APC, Labour Party (LP), the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While describing the decision by Ubah to join the APC as a step towards addressing the issue relating to the marginalisation of the South East, he received Ubah into the Party with other NWC officials. Senator Ubah was accompanied by the Senate President, HE. Godswill Akpabio & members of the Senate APC Caucus.

In the letter of notification of defection indicated that his resolve to join the APC was based on the irreconcilable differences in YPP.

“I am writing to formally notify and inform you that due to irreconcilable differences, I have resolved to move from YPP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“As a dedicated politician and a representative of the people, I believe that this move has become exigent owing to the growing need and call from my constituents to align myself with a political party that best reflects my values and aspirations.

“After careful consideration and due consultations with my family, constituents, political associates and critical stakeholders, and after thorough evaluation of the political landscape in Nigeria, I have come to the realisation that the APC is better suited to champion the ideals and principles that I hold dear.”
